about
The Tragical Demise of Dr. Julian Keeley is a concept album consisting mainly of a long-lost but recently discovered tapes. Keeley acquired a Philicorda home organ and — at great expense — a four-track Ampex tape machine from a nearby recording studio. These tapes consist of demented hymns written and performed by Keeley, as well some "personal songs" about his past. I have augmented these recordings when necessary, and provided some aural collages. I have attached one of these collages as a kind of trailer for the album. For an account of Keeley's demise, watch The Satanic Rites of Dracula (1974.)
